Indonesia stands on the 15th of the world's largest economy based on GDP Purchasing Power Parity
(World Bank 2007), just one level behind Canada. One of Canada's most important economic partners in the Asia Pacific,
Indonesia is the 5th destination for Canada's Foreign Direct Investment in the Region.
Focusing on some of Indonesia's excellent products, this event is intended to showcase Indonesia's manufacturing
capabilities to serve global market. Come and see what Indonesia can serve to British Columbia's market, and learn
how you can do business with this country of 230 million inhabitants. Also get an opportunity to network Indonesia's
business peoples in Greater Vancouver.
Sample products showcased:
- Food products, cocoa powder from BT Cocoa (www.btcocoa.com)and
Haditama Pradita Lestari Ltd. BT Cocoa has been marketing its
products (cocoa powder, liquor and butter) to the EU countries, USA, China, and Russia. Haditama Pratama Lestari
focuses on cocoa beans, and has been exporting to the EU countries. Indonesia herself was the 3rd largest cocoa
producer in 2006.
- Leather footwear and lady bag, from Utaliya Ltd (www.mario-minardi.com)
and Damai Columbus. Utaliya has been exporting its products
to Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, USA, and some Asian countries.
- Fish products, from Balifish (www.balifish.com).
This company has since 2001 exported its tuna, marlin, and swordfish to the US and UK.
- Automotive spare parts (oil filters), from Astra Auto Component Group (www.component.astra.co.id).
Has been exported to ASEAN Countries, Australia, and the Middle East.
- Hospital equipments, from Andini (www.andini.co.id),
Tesena (www.tesena.co.id), and
Mega Andalan Kalasan (www.mak-techno.com). These companies are inter alia hospital bed,
electric wheelchairs, to dental chair mounted unit.
- Cosmetics, and spa products, from Martina Berto (www.marthatilaar.com),
one leading player in Indonesia's cosmetics and spa industries.
- Men shirts, and uniform garment, from Bina Busana Internusa (www.binabusana.com). With production capacity of 1.7 million pieces annually,
this company has been marketing to the US, UK, and several Asian countries.
- Furniture, from House of Chippendale (www.houseofchippendale.com), Coquitlam, and The Teak Tree, Nanaimo. Two BC's manufacturers with Indonesia's woods.
- Handicraft, from Indoprima Makmur Laksana (www.naturalww.com). Mainly focuses on wooden carpet, window bind, and ethnic handicrafts,
the company has supplied wholesalers in the USA, Europe, and some Asian countries.
- Baby accessories, from Lembanindo Tirta Anugerah (www.lemondebaby.com). Under brand name "Le monde", the company has been exporting
its products to Australia and Russia.
