The Turning Point Ensemble and Gamelan Gita Asmara in:

DUAL ECLIPSE: ORCHESTRAS OF TWO WORLDS

Vancouver ensembles Turning Point and Gamelan Gita Asmara share the stage for an evening of new and classic music from Canada and Bali. This multimedia combination of two of the most dynamic ensemble traditions on the planet will jet you from continent to continent in flashes of sonic colour.

Highlights include the premiere of Resolution, a new work by Michael Tenzer for small orchestra powered by Balinese drumming, the spectacular Kebyar Gandrung danced by Putu Widiantini, and newly commissioned video and dance with dancer Ziyian Kwan, choreographer Jennifer Mascall and videographer Yun Lam Li.
